The term “delimitations” refers to the qualities that restrict the scope of a study and specify its limits, such as the sample group, the geographical location or setting in which the analysis takes place, and population characteristics. The researcher might also choose to collect data with specific research instruments and processes, but not other ones, as well. These delimitations may be imposed for practical reasons, such as a lack of time or financial resources to conduct a more extensive examination. Describe why some possibilities were included and why others were left out in the study’s delimitation section.
In the scenario above, the researcher might explain why he/she chose a sample size of 50 students, why he/she chose students in Grades 3-5 rather than 1-2, and why he/she chose students from Billabong Elementary Public School over students from other schools.
