Abstract
The main thrust of this thesis is on Crime rate prediction and detection system. Common Integrated Police Application [CIPA] has been utilized for the storage and processing of crime data, and while this is helpful in gathering criminal data, it does not aid in the development of strategies for crime prevention. Detecting and anticipating crimes is becoming increasingly challenging for the police system. This leads to an increase in crime rates because there is no prior warning of the illegal behaviors taking place. Forecasting techniques can be used to anticipate crime in a certain location, which could be useful in crime prevention. The Short Term Forecasting algorithm is being used to predict the future crime rate and its efficiency is being measured using measurements such as Mean Absolute Percent Error [MAPE] and Mean Absolute Deviation [MAD].
