IMPACT OF INSECURITY ON EXECUTION OF GOVERNMENT POLICIES

Under President Mohammedu Buhari’s leadership, Nigeria has suffered a rise in insecurity from 2015 to 2020, a period of six years.

Nation-building and national economic development are predicated on national security. This is due to the fact that calm countries draw in global investors, while domestic investors can freely operate the economy with few or no conflicts or worries. Nwanegbo and Odigbo (2013) assert that security is the foundation upon which every significant development can be achieved and maintained.

In the past 15 years, Nigeria has had an unparalleled number of protests that have taken the form of kidnapping and abductions, armed robberies, bombings, and carnages of various sizes.
