Nature of serial publications

The characteristics of serial publishing in general are as follows:

Collectiveness: A serial publication must be a compilation of academic writings from several advisers, who may be from different fields of study or even from different nations or origins.
Continuity of publication: As serial publications have no set end date, they should continue forever.

Editorial board: To guarantee the publishing of high-quality articles and to maintain continuity, a serial publication must have a board of editors who read the journal article and provide their critical opinions.

Universally: A serial publication ought to be usable everywhere.
Serial publications are handled or reproduced mechanically and in print format. But, an electric version is available now.

A serial publication must have an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number), which must be visible on the serial publication.
Publication frequency: Serial publications are different in that they are supposed to be released at regular intervals, such as daily, weekly, monthly, biannually, and yearly.
