Abstract

As part of government effort to address the problems in the sector, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was initiated to address the health problems in Nigeria. The study assessed Knowledge awareness and benefits of national health insurance scheme among civil servants in Obiakpo LGA. Simple and systematic random sampling technique was adopted in administering 561 questionnaires on civil servants. The generated data were statistically tested at the 0.05 level of significant using Pearson Product Moment Correlation analytical procedure..Results from the study showed that 92.3% of the respondents were aware of the existence of NHIS program while 65.8% registered with NHIS.  63.8 % Civil Servants in Rivers State had the knowledge that NHIS is designed to protect their families from financial hardship arising from huge medical bills and also 71.5 % respondents from the study were aware that NHIS will improve quality of health care in Nigeria. These are part of the objectives of the scheme to improve the quality of health care delivery. Civil servants in Rivers State have comprehensive knowledge of the National Health Insurance Scheme package as a desirable tool for satisfying their health needs.  However, the analysis revealed civil servants ‘awareness of NHIS was significantly related to the quality of health care service render to them.

Abstract

Nigerian insurance industry is beset with a number of challenges, the most prominent is the low awareness level among the insuring public. This may be resolved through effective personal selling as promotional tool for insurance services. Personal selling is a unique element of marketing, it does not only create awareness and provide information about the features of the products; it also adopts individualistic approach that is designed to meet specific need of prospects and specific market segments. This study will be useful to insurance and marketing practitioners who wish to understand why there is variation in the demand for similar products of different producers. It will arouse the reasons for constant review and update of marketing strategies as response to changes in the business environment.This paper examines the roles of personal selling in enhancing clients’ satisfaction in Nigeria insurance market. A descriptive cross-sectional survey research was adopted and 110{One Hundred and Ten} respondents from selected insurance firms were randomly selected. Data procedures were done using descriptive and inferential statistical instruments while independent T-test was used to test the hypotheses. Findings revealed that personal selling strategy is the most beneficial marketing communication tool that should be embraced by Nigerian firms. It may also be used to improve the image of the industry.

ABSTRACT

Throughout the Nigeria, the latest talk when you listen to C.B.N on television, listen to radio, read newspaper, magazines and even when you attend seminar, the latest issue commonly discussed is based on the present Nigeria economic recession.

It is for this reason, I have decide to embarked on this research project topic tag “the impact of insurance to the Nigeria economic on recession”. This project work consist of each of the chapter are analyze as follows.

The first chapter will talk on the essential role of insurance in the national economy and survival of a virile economy industry in Nigeria. Most especially now that everyone is face with financial crises and to the society at large.

The second chapter will examine critically the literature review, historical background and structure of the company. The third chapter talks about the research methodology, method of data collected for this study, sources and analysis.

Chapter four gives details of how the data is being analyzed and presented.

The last chapter includes the conclusion, summary and recommendation, if the recommendation is accepted then the “impact of insurance to the Nigeria economic on recession will be seemed clearly and there will be improvement in the economy of the nation.
