Computers are widely recognized for their diverse applications, particularly in scientific and mathematical domains. However, limited attention has been given to developing a comprehensive and efficient online examination system within this context. This gap highlights the necessity of designing and implementing an online examination and evaluation system. At present, online examination systems play a crucial role in higher education institutions worldwide, as traditional manual examination processes are associated with numerous challenges. These issues can be effectively addressed by leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve the administration and management of examinations within academic institutions.

The implementation of an online examination system will greatly benefit both the institution and the students. It will provide students with a more convenient and efficient way to take assessments while ensuring instant result generation with complete accuracy and security. This research project aims to assist university examination boards in organizing, conducting, and managing examinations in a more reliable, fast, and sustainable manner compared to conventional manual methods.

Traditional examination systems present several challenges, including delays in result processing, time-consuming question paper creation, difficulties in verifying correct and incorrect answers, and the high risk of data loss. Additionally, retrieving records in a manual system is often slow and cumbersome. The primary objective of this project is to develop an online examination system that allows students to take tests and instantly access their results. A key advantage of this system is its ability to enable students to sit for examinations remotely while receiving immediate feedback. This feature helps eliminate concerns about unfair grading, a common issue in traditional examination methods.

Development of an android based mobile app to identify duplicate media files

Background of the Study

Duplicate media is a challenge in the digital ecosystem these days. With smartphones, digital cameras, and other multimedia devices, users generate a huge number of photos, videos, and audio files. Sometimes, such files get duplicated by mistake during backups, transfers, or even editing Nauman & Herschel, (2022) .These duplicates go on adding up with time and occupy precious storage space, which creates inefficiency in managing digital libraries Kaczmarczyk, (2015). It is a particular phenomenon that has prevailed with integration into users’ lives by cloud storage and synchronization technologies.

These duplicate file-creation patterns differ greatly. Often, users download the same file many times or, after some small modification, save it under a different name. For example, photo editing might result in the storage of many versions of one and the same picture. Similarly, transferring media between hosts may also lose their original timestamps and/or metadata, making identification more complicated Patil, Jagtap et al.,(2017). Applications that create temporary copies, or even automated backups that are poorly managed, can also lead to duplicates. This is further exacerbated by the rapid growth in storage capacity and, consequently, its affordability, which encourages users to retain large volumes of data without effective management practices. This behavior encourages the proliferation of redundant files, making it increasingly difficult for users to locate specific items in their digital collections. Duplicate files affect not only personal devices but also organizations with extensive multimedia archives Adegboye, James & Jiboku, Folahan., (2022).

Efforts to solve this problem often rely on manual deletion or generic duplicate detection tools. These can be extremely time-consuming for big datasets and are prone to errors. Duplicate file detection software does exist, but many solutions lack the precision and user-friendly interfaces that would make them effective in identifying and managing duplicate media files Arora, Trelogan, & Ba, (2016). Furthermore, they often do not consider those cases where duplicates are not exact but with minor variations in resolution, format, or metadata.

Part of the most promising solution lies in the development of mobile applications for duplicate media file management. Given the widespread use of smartphones, users now have very powerful computing tools in their hands that can carry out real-time analyses and organization of media libraries Thakur et al.,(2023). Equipped with sophisticated algorithms and user-friendly interfaces, mobile applications provide faster access to handling duplicate files.

With such challenges, there is an increasing need for new approaches that not only accurately detect duplicates but also let users manage their media files effectively. This research therefore, probes into the development of an Android-based mobile application that solves this problem by guaranteeing usability, efficiency, and scalability.

SENTIMENT ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL BANK PREFERENCES OVER COMMERCIAL BANK

Sentiment analysis, a machine learning technique, is being widely adopted by businesses to understand their customers’ preferences and improve customer service. This thesis will analyze the sentiment of digital bank preferences over commercial banks using sentiment analysis techniques. The paper will begin by discussing the concept of sentiment analysis and its relevance in the banking sector. It will then examine the reasons why customers prefer digital banking over commercial banking, followed by a discussion on the challenges faced by digital banks in gaining customers’ trust. Finally, the essay will conclude with some recommendations for digital banks to improve their services and overcome the challenges.

DESIGN AND AUTOMATION OF EDUCATIONAL SMART CAMPUS SYSTEM

In this project, the smart campus system was built using the BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3DGIS (Geographic Information System) platforms to enhance the learning environment and comprehensive management level of institutions. BIM technology was used by Autodesk Revit software to produce the model, and 3DGIS technology was used by Skyline software to design the spatial database. Smart Campus is a 3D campus information system that was created to provide workable options for building smart campus.

ABSTRACT

This project is to design a Web-based distance learning system, where instructors and students can participate fully in distance learning activities while geographically separated from each other. This project is aimed to design and implement a distance learning system and use internet as the delivery mode.  This report discusses in detail background research on distance education and different modes of delivery technologies used. It also discusses advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. It also gives tips for successful distance learning and who should opt distance learning, as it is not suited for everyone. This project presents the design and implementation of this new and inexpensive distance learning system. It was developed using HTML, CSS and PHP. It handles three different kinds of users: student, instructor and admin.

Design and implementation of banking bot system.

The user will be able to ask whatever inquiry they like about the bank, and an intelligent chat bot will respond with information or answers. The input of bank customers is the first thing that our intelligent system will accept. This information may be provided either verbally or in written form. The intelligent system will process the user’s question based on the input, and then it will offer the user an answer. An artificial intelligence is the component of our project that is both the most important and the most useful. An intelligent system is one that automates activities that are often associated with human thinking, such as decision making and the process of problem resolution. This system is going to be accessible over the web. An intelligent chat bot will be designed and developed with the help of our technology. A technological demonstrator will be shown in order to validate a proposed framework that is necessary to support such a bot (a web service). While a black box technique is utilized, which involves controlling the communication structure to and from the web service, the web service itself makes it possible for any kind of client on any kind of platform to communicate with the server. The offered service will be accessible through a produced interface that enables seamless XML processing. As a result, the lifespan of such a service can be extended thanks to the extensibility of the interface. The web-based bot incorporates an artificial brain, which enables it to generate individualized user answers that are consistent with the desired character. The responses to questions posed to the bot, which it is unable to comprehend, will be preserved, and further processing will be performed using a third-party expert system. This will improve the capabilities of the artificial brain for the development of responses in the future.

CHAPTER ONE/INTRODUCTION

1.1 Introduction

An estate can be defined as an area or amount of land or property. Estate management is quite a broad term for a number of areas that include property management, surveying, business and finance and the built environment. Closer ties are beginning to emerge between estate and property management and business and financial practices, and essentially the subject is primarily concerned with the valuation and management of land and buildings in the public and private sector. With house prices rising at an astonishing rate over the last few years and now the recession, the government has come under increasing pressure to be relieved from a ‘housing crisis’. This crisis has come about because of the rise in house prices which first-time buyers can no longer afford and a lack of affordable housing for the citizens. Also, the rise in investment buyers has meant that a lot of properties that those on average wages could have once been able to buy, now have to rent instead. All of this has become an area of tremendous interest. The government has predicted that more homes are needed, but where these houses are to be built has also courted controversy. Estate Managers typically set the service standard and are responsible for the hiring, training, and ongoing management of staff required to meet the service needs of the household. In addition to personnel management, the administrative functions are many. All related financial matters including accounting, budgets, and payroll normally pass through the estate manager’s hands. Based on the size of the property, the Estate Manager may wear many other hats. Depending on the nature of the property, an owner of property has the right to consume, sell, rent, mortgage, transfer, exchange or destroy their property, and/or to exclude others from doing these things. A title, or a right of ownership, establishes the relation between the property and other persons, assuring the owner the right to dispose of the property as they see fit. Some philosophers assert that property rights arise from social convention. Others find origins for them in morality or natural law. So, estate management system is needed to take care of keeping records of the estate transactions in terms of allocation, transfer of property, revoke or sale of a property. Maintaining such record manually will be cumbersome hence the need for an estate management system that will automate all estate transactions. This research work is sub divided into five chapters as follows: chapter one which contains the introduction of the work, Chapter two contains the literature review of existing systems, their successes and limitations shall also be discussed in this chapter. Chapter three contains the analyses and design of the proposed system including the methodologies adopted while carrying out the research. Chapter four is where the actual implementation using the appropriate programming language is discussed, and finally chapter five contains the summary, conclusion and recommendation.

 Background Of The Study

Land use, land valuation, and the determination of the incomes of landowners, are among the oldest questions in economic theory (Shavell, 2004). Land is an essential input (factor of production) for agriculture, and agriculture is by far the most important economic activity in preindustrial societies. With the advent of industrialization, important new uses for land emerged, as sites for factories, warehouses, offices, and urban agglomerations. Also, the value of real property taking the form of man-made structures and machinery increases relative to the value of land alone. The concept of real property eventually comes to encompass effectively all forms of tangible fixed capital. With the rise of extractive industries, real property comes to encompass natural capital. With the rise of tourism and leisure, real property comes to include scenic and other amenity values. Starting in the 1960s, as part of the emerging field of law and economics, economists and legal scholars began to study the property rights enjoyed by tenants under the various estates, and the economic benefits and costs of the various estates, Epstein (2007). This resulted in a much improved understanding of the:
Property rights enjoyed by tenants under the various estates. These include the right to:

· Decide how a piece of real property is used;

· Exclude others from enjoying the property;

· Transfer (alienate) some or all of these rights to others on mutually agreeable terms;

· Nature and consequences of transaction costs when changing and transferring estates.

 Statement Of Problem

Housing is a basic need for all. Over the years, increase in population and income has led to an equivalent increase in housing demand. Managing these demands manually will pose great challenges and difficulties; hence there is a need to automate the management process. Keeping record in an estate concerning lands, buildings and their owners has been a great task to the government and the governed. Access to estate information proves difficult that most times people are defrauded due to lack of property information. Illegal sales of lands and houses without the consent of the owner are very common. Valuation of estate for the purpose of paying tax to government is not achieved, hence the need for computerization of estate management system.

Aim And Objectives Of The Study

The aim of this research work is to develop a real estate management system to make estate information accessible to both government and individuals who may like to acquire building or landed property.

The objectives of this study are as highlighted below;

Significance Of The Study

This research work is of great importance in that it seeks to provide innovative services relating to estate management such as providing information on land use as quickly as possible. Other significances it offers are found in the following areas;

1. Updating and modification of information concerning land parcels, buildings, social amenities in a country or area.

2. Faster and easier retrieval of estate information for instantaneous use of recipient such asgovernment agencies, demographers, tourists and individuals.

3. Identification of the amenities in the Estate so as to know which other ones are needed.

4. Keep a database of all the lands and buildings in an estate

5. Guide buyers on how to buy property and who to meet

6. Educate buyers on the type of land to build in an area for proper estate planning.

7. It will also aid in urban and regional planning.

(2015) Dodge K, Farkas G, Fryer RG, Guryan As a result, numerous online tutor scheduling and appointment tools have emerged for the convenience of potential tutors and students. Since virtually everyone already owns a smartphone, it is also incredibly handy for individuals to set up appointments wherever they are and whenever they want to, which is why many developers produce mobile scheduling software.

Students needing help staying on track academically and struggling in a course can receive tutoring from the academic assistance department of their school. Students who would wish to use the school’s tutorial services can schedule an appointment by emailing their academic support staff. Even if tutorial programs are available, the typical way to get a tutor is to go in person to the office of student affairs or academic support staff, schedule an appointment online, via email, or via text message. Prior to hiring a tutor, it has not yet been investigated to obtain a list of tutors with their qualifications and reviews from past students who were their tutees. While the majority of tutorial appointment apps may offer competent tutors, they do not guarantee a moderated atmosphere that is regularly watched over by staff members.

Therefore, the goal of this project is to create an improved web-based tutor search system. GrabTutor will offer a list of available tutors together with information about their areas of specialization and performance reviews from former students. Instead of asking family members or friends, a parent can quickly find tutors for their child using this program. Instead of waiting days or for a response from someone else, parents would receive their results immediately. Parents will choose a tutor for their child based on a number of factors, including the instructor’s gender, educational background, specialization, and command of the English language. Additionally, by organizing their schedule, this program will assist tutors in coordinating and saving time. In order to allocate teachers and pupils in the same area, the application uses location preference as the primary attribute. The application’s key characteristics include maintainability, where instructor and parent data will be maintained by a database, the ability to modify uploaded profiles based on needs, and responsiveness, dependability, and user-friendliness.

Problem Statement

For students, the current manual approach for selecting tutors is a very time-consuming and exhausting process.
The current web-based system is inefficient because it primarily serves as an advertisement for the tutor.

ABSTRACT
A Text-to-speech application is a synthesizer software that converts text into spoken word, by analyzing and processing the text using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and then using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to convert this processed text into synthesized speech representation of the text. The vision impaired students makes a lot of mistake during typing because they just assume whatever there are typing is right, this lead to the development of Text-To-Speech application. Here, we developed a useful text-to-speech synthesizer in the form of a simple application that converts inputted text into synthesized speech and reads out to the user which can then be saved as an mp3.file. Observation and interview were deployed to gather information used in developing this material. The development of a text to speech synthesizer will be of great help to people with visual impairment and make making through large volume of text easier.

Since the year 2000, a variety of establishments, including state legislatures and various government bodies, have established electronic petitions systems (e-petitions). E-petitions have advanced past the test organization and are characterized by a substantial level of institutionalization and procedural development in comparison to the majority of other petitioning methods made available by public entities. This is the case because e-petitions have developed past the stage of the test organization. It has been proposed that this research develop an electronic petitioning system in order to strengthen the connection that may be made between petitioning on the Internet and public institutions. When this is fully implemented, it will make it simpler for members of the general public to petition governmental entities and engage in other types of dialogue with those entities using a variety of internet-based platforms. The establishment of an online management system for petitions will make it easier for thousands of manual petitions to be delivered all over the world, as well as encourage accountability and organize the petitions. In addition to HTML and CSS, the suggested system was built with the help of the programming languages PHP and mySQL.
